xfce4-panel 3.x

xfce4-panel has a window border and shows itself in the bar. See attached image.

Do not use it with current Xfce4base.tcz xfce4-panel is a component for Xfce 4.6.2 which will be available soon in the repo while Xfce4base ( it is 4.6.1 ) has xfce4-panel built in. Same for other components posted recently.

Panel is not a standalone application.

I see...I actually do not have the xfce4-panel extension loaded I only have Xfce4base which would explain why this is happening. Here is a link to the bug: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6117

This points out that at least 4.6.3 should be used to get around this bug.

This bug report is dated back to January, 2010.

xfce4-panel is 4.6.4 see info file http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/3.x/tcz/xfce4-panel.tcz.info

4.6.2 is the version number of the latest officially released bunch, while individual components may have ( and they have) different versions.
