tce-load options explanation? Do I have this right?
« on: October 02, 2009, 03:27:29 PM »
I guess I'm a little slow today but could someone provide an explanation of all the tce-load option rules or is this all there is to know?

"tce-load [-w -i {-r -f} ] extname"

edit: Is this all there is to know?
"tce-load, use -w (was wget) , -i (to install), -r (force tcz to ram) and -f (force symlinker)"

edit: so "-i" does not mean "install" as in the app browser instead it mounts the app.

To "install" an app requires "-i and -r".

The options are a bit confusing. I was expecting "i" for install and "-m" for mount. Just my 2 cents.

Yes. That's it.
A fine point is...

to ram is really to filesystem, which is typically, in ram, however, using a PPI, would mean on that persistent device.

A new code of -b was added, but should be of no use except while booting.
