Google Earth works fine on TC 2.x with some limitation.

It requires accelerated graphics, you need Xorg by default. Due to some reason, it doesn't work with certain Intel chips e.g. GM965, you get an error message but works with ATI.

Due to license restrictions it can't be redistributed as a .tcz extension  :'( However it is worth to try on TC. Send me a PM if you need help. Maybe a script to convert your downloaded personal copy to .tcz would help to integrate to your TC installation.

There is nothing stopping you from writing a script that would download, compile and install(?), and packaging as a tcz. The script could be posted to the Programming and Scripting section for others to use.
