Add custom keyboard shortcut, which will work durning gameplay

I tried to use actkbd, which not works at all and tries to use xbindkey. I have problem with xbindkey. My shortcut worked, but no working on game play (SuperTuxKart). Is there any way to make shortcut worked in any case under X session?
