Persistence with mouse
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:19:51 AM »
First off, great little OS!  I've been looking for something similar for awhile.  Probably my 7th or 8th in the past 10 years.

I use my mouse left-handed.  I'm able to reverse the mouse buttons with mousetool, but it doesn't last.  Maybe 1-2 minutes.  I've got a /home and other settings are being saved upon reboot.   I installed CorePlus.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmm.  Well, I thought I had it, but this didn't work.

I edited /home/tc/.mouse_config and  changed the line xmodmap -e 'pointer = 3 2 1 4 5" to xmodmap - e 'pointer = 1 2 3 4 5" and rebooted.

The mouse is the same.

Haven't seen this kind of behavior, I'd suggest to try Xorg instead of Xvesa.
Download a copy and keep it handy: Core book ;)

Did you backup before rebooting?

Yes, it's backed up.  The changes in the mouse config file persisted after reboot.

Using Xorg now and it's working great.  I was a bit puzzled after the reboot with Xorg.  Turned out the mouse wheel was my primary button.  It's working now and has persisted after another reboot.
