Mesa VDPAU?
« on: October 25, 2015, 12:19:39 AM »
Hello,

according to the Arch Linux Wiki, the open source nouveau and radeon drivers (radeon's video hardware acceleration is also VDPAU) needs a package called "mesa-vdpau" to be able to utilize VDPAU, see:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VDPAU

The nouveau Wiki also says:

You need to make sure that mesa is compiled with the vdpau state tracker enabled. Debian seems to turn that off entirely, you will either have to build it yourself or use one of the PPA's that builds with it turned on.

And Debian and Ubuntu also have a package called "mesa-vdpau-drivers", see:

https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=mesa-vdpau-drivers&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=mesa-vdpau-drivers&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all

In the Tiny Core Linux repository however, there is no such thing as "mesa-vdpau" or "mesa-vdpau-drivers".

So, the question is:

Is Xorg-7.7-3d.tcz (Mesa) compiled with the VDPAU state tracker enabled?

And is the Tiny Core Linux repository missing the "mesa-vdpau"/"mesa-vdpau-drivers" package?

Regards

Okay, thanks. As mentioned in http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,19046.0.html, it would be nice if you could rename it to "mesa", since that's what it is (AFAICT).
