[SOLVED]TC4.2 appbrowser missing
« on: January 12, 2012, 12:07:19 PM »
Somehow, I can't use appbrower. My wbar shows only terminal and chromium-browser. I don't know what I did. Last I remember, I was modifying /mnt/sda1/opt/.filetool.lst and rebooting. Typing in appbrowser just give me an error about it not found.  If I boot off the iso which points to the same extensions, I get everything. Where is appbrowser located?

Another question while we are on the subject of .filetool.lst. Is it recursive? Meaning, if I put etc, will it persist the whole directory recursively? I'm assuming yes. Also, it seems like putting "/"(/etc) causes errors even though it makes more sense.

You need to add Xprogs.tcz to your onboot.lst.

Do not add etc to .filetool.lst.
.filetool.lst should include:
opt
home
specific config files you have edited.

Hi tweetyhack
Yes, it is recursive. No, do not use a / as the first character in a line in .filetool.lst or .xfiletool.lst.

I realize your problem is related to a messed up backup but I like to use the appbrowser from the terminal by typing

ab 'approximate app name'   then choose from the results.

works great

Yep, missing Xprogs. I think I when I installed Xorg and removed Xvesa from onboot, it takes Xprogs out.
