Surplus file in 'jwm-snapshot.tcz'
« on: August 26, 2011, 09:20:15 PM »
I've stumbled over this today purely by accident. As it turns out the 'jwm-snapshot.tcz' extension offers a great "two-for-the-price-of-one deal" as it contains a 80 kB file in its root named '.tcz'.

Clearly such a hidden file is a bit tricky to spot, but it might help to explain why 'jwm-snapshot.tcz' is about twice the size of 'jwm.tcz' (whilst the 'Size' information in both .info files is anyway underreporting the true extension size).

Funnily enough the surplus file is itself a SquashFS archive (probably an older version of 'jwm-snapshot.tcz'), which contains another (albeit zero length) '.tcz' file in it's root.

N. Carigon  is apparently no longer active. Therefore jwm-snapshot is orphaned. Care to adopt?

EDIT: Apparently maker was sent a PM back in July. See: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,10852.msg57088.html#msg57088

Seeing no volunteers, I proceeded with the deletion  the remnant .tcz and changed initialization of .jwmrc files for both jwm.tcz and jwm-snapshot.tcz.

As per the request in: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,11293.msg59309.html#msg59309

Is feedback wanted on a specific aspect or will the following general observation suffice?

On a virgin TC3.8.4 both JWM and JWM-Snapshot were installed independently.  Both work as expected with no problems present.  The issue notified via PM to the original maintainer is now resolved.

Thanks for the update.

Hi giac_fab
The info file says it is 457. Is that a problem? If so, you can always put in a request for an update
under Extension Requests.
