What is the file tcz.zsync?

Looking on the forum I realized that serves to "speed up" the download of a package, but how?
Someone explain it to me in detail?

I use zsync many years ago to upgrade an debian iso, you're telling me that does the same thing for every package?.

P.s. for example: If I put only a immage.png in a package,  If an update it, it will download only the new image inside?

NOPE!

But if the extension file (which is a SquashFS archive) is changed only a bit, and not in its entirety, then 'zsync' will only download the changed segments of the extension file and re-use those that are already locally available.

Today I updated seamonkey, it seemed that they were downloaded only 15mb of 25
was due to zsync?
