hi centralware thanks for the explanation ...

scroling the board name list and it just occured to me after readiing "Micro Core" ( @ https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/board,37.0.html )
that it has at some point droped micro & changed to just "core"

not so much a bug ..
searching i did find some reffrence to ppl having to make the conection
https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,22916.msg143152.html#msg143152
eg
Hi kaye-for-core
They are the same thing. I think the  microcore  name was changed to  core  starting around TC4.

so perhaps for the sake of clarity ( and now it is revamping )  board name alteration could be considered , assuming that is posible with out issue !

in case it was missed , wrt forum bugs 'internal error or misconfiguration'

https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,25985.msg166700.html#msg166700

Hi CentralWare
Fixed 65 posts that dealt with actual questions and answers.

I couldn't fix this one:
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,24278.msg154005.html#msg154005
I get the following error when clicking the Save or Preview button:
Quote
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@forum.tinycorelinux.net to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Besides this thread, there are 9 other threads containing  linuxsecrets.com/tinycorelinux-wiki  all of
which refer to the Wiki being down. I saw no point in changing them.

Hello,

The registration form for the forum seems broken : the graphical captcha is displayed twice and there is no way to orient the image as requested on the 2nd instance.
Tested with both Firefox and Chrome.

Captcha is always failing.

Bye

Laurent

Can not post anything containing shell scipts code, all is placed in
Code: [Select]
tags, but it errors 500 mostly of the time.
This is really a show-stopper. I am posting more and more on github due to this bug.

I wanted to post this text, but it errors out 500.

I hope this will be fixed soon.

And after years of no luck contacting system admin, I had the idea this forum would be upgraded by CentralWare.
We have this posts on 5 and 6 october 2022, and the last one on 16 october 2022.

And then more than 3 months of NOTHING.....

Maybe it is time to hand over the keys to someone else for hosting en maintaining this forum. There must be more than one person taking this to a higher and more professional level.

Had some doubts posting this message, but hey, the Admin has left the house (again) per 1 nov 2022 .....

I hope CentralWare sees this move as something positive and his burden will be lifted by others. Thanks for everything.

Hi alphons
I'd like to start by saying we owe CentralWare a debt of gratitude. Both
this forum and the Wiki were experiencing problems and we no longer
had access to the host. CentralWare provided a lot of time and resources
to ensure this forum and the Wiki did not disappear.

The individuals involved in offering these resources do so by taking time
out of their daily routines to make them possible. Despite having a business
to run, CentralWare spent many hours working on keeping us online, and I
for one am grateful.

  Thank you CentralWare

I can see on Reddit another potential user not being able to create its account here due to the long-standing Captcha issue.
It isn't possible to move to another forum solution ?

I can confirm what destroyedlolo is reporting. I tried registering as a new user but was unsuccessful due to a Captcha that cannot be solved (second one in the attached image) because the sliders don't work. It seems it is currently impossible for a new user to join the forum.

For the FORUM, registration is possible, I tried few minutes ago, see attachment. [used Firefox 110.0 64 bits, uBlock-Origin deactivated]
Right, in the beginning was near impossible because I need to compare a photo with not-matching-photos. But play as fool, and I clicked on empty photos until a good photo arrived, to choose from.

EDIT: for WIKI I got
Code: [Select]
CON: [mysql:host=mysql.itquit.com;dbname=tinycoreforum_smf]
 QRY: [SELECT * FROM smf_members WHERE id_member = ]

Fatal error:  Uncaught Error: Call to a member function fetchAll() on bool in /home/coreroot/wiki.tinycorelinux.net/forumz.php:19 Stack trace: #0 /home/coreroot/wiki.tinycorelinux.net/doku.php(21): require_once() #1 {main} thrown in /home/coreroot/wiki.tinycorelinux.net/forumz.php on line 19

The initial Captcha with the photos is finicky but I was able to eventually get past it.

Did you even look at my screenshot? The problem is in the screen that comes after the one in your screenshot. It's a screen that has multiple (4) additional Captchas: One asking to type letters in box, a question about the moon, then two where user has to use a slider so that images are vertical. The last one is unsolvable because the sliders are broken. If user/tester is daring and tries to proceed having solved 3 of the 4 additional Captchas, an error appears saying that Captchas must be solved.

A separate issue: I've never seen this many Captchas (a total of 5) anywhere else before. It seems a bit excessive.

Thank you for replicating the problem. It's a hard stop for any new users trying to register.

OMG, only now I read the "Registration Agreement". WTF, "United States Federal law" (?), "any International", "abusive" (?), "cookie" hm... I am not a lawyer, I dislike IP (Intellectual Property) rights/patents...

"Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement."
OK, now I am more relaxed. I will only / eventually / unintentionally mild (not major)  violate [partially] this agreement. OMG.
