WIKI and FORUM BUG REPORTING
« on: September 28, 2022, 08:59:26 PM »
Should you find any issues while utilizing the Tiny Core Linux Forum or Wiki, please return here and post your findings.

PLEASE INCLUDE:
  • Date/Time when it happened if different than when you posted your information
  • Your computer type and operating system
  • Your web browser it happened in
  • A description of what was experienced and if you did anything specific that could have triggered the event
  • Screen shots, log files or anything else you might think would be helpful for us to recreate the scenario
Thank you for your support and efforts!

NOTE: When a task is completed, the post relating to the task will be lightened (text color) so it's easy to scroll through looking for items which may not have made it to my ticket system.

HTTPS will be corrected this evening (the template only knows HTTP.)

UPDATE 10-01-2022:
HTTP vs. HTTPS issues should be corrected!

PLEASE TEST THOROUGHLY with as many web browsers as possible just in case
there are odd-ball hard-coded image, css, js, etc. content still being served in the
template or settings of the site that I haven't found yet.

This subforum seems to use a Halloween theme, when everywhere else is the old one?

The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Hi curaga
It turns out each board can have its own theme. And on this board
the  Override Member's Theme  box happens to be checked.

Personally, I prefer the default blue Tinycore theme. It's easy on the eyes.

Strange that I can't see the woodpecker, but if I try to upload the picture again, the forum spits out error.
The forum need rights to the upload directory.

And when i try to use the message function: "Attachments and other options" and try to upload the picture of what error message i get when trying to upload the avatar picture I get the same error:

An Error Has Occurred!
Cannot access attachments upload path!

Hi patrikg
I would let this issue go for a few days. CentralWare is still in the process of
getting our forum straightened out.

Strange that you have seen the woodpecker at the first place, maybe you have that in your browser cache.
Yes of course i let CentralWare do his stuff.
But now he know that the upload function don't work.
And the avatars is away.
Tried to change the theme, but that doesn't work to get the avatars back eider.

Hi patrikg
The avatars for CentralWare and curaga are not visible either, so the issue
is not limited to your profile.

I would bet all attached images are possibly affected.   As the image is not stored in the database.   It is stored on the local server disk,  and only the file reference is saved in the database.  Images have to be backed up with FTP and then transferred to the new server.  It’s an annoyance of SMF.

I would just re-upload your avatar, or create something new.

I think you may be right. I just tried to download an attachment from this post:
http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,25843.msg165766.html#msg165766
and I received the following error:
Code: [Select]
404 - Attachment Not Found

HTTPS will be corrected this evening (the template only knows HTTP.)

Is this, or your fix for it, why image URLs (eg. icons and the Tiny Core logo) are all HTTPS when you load the forum by HTTP at the moment? This seems to prevent them loading in Dillo - strangely even when accessing the forum over HTTPS as well, as when using HTTP.

Dillo also warns that "the remote certificate is self-signed and untrusted" when connecting to the forum via HTTPS, which might be why it won't load the HTTPS image URLs.

This is with Dillo version 3.0.5 in Tiny Core 13.x x86_64, "dillo.tcz" extension. As at around 2022-10-01 02:00:00 UTC.

Great to see the Wiki back up! Comparing with the Wayback Machine's last archive before it went down, the PiCore pages (bottom of that index page) seem to have been lost. Did it get reverted to an earlier state, or did someone delete the PiCore pages shortly before it went offline?

The "Creating an Extension" page is also missing instructions at the end for using bcrypt to avoid Gmail blocking extension submission emails (I discovered that this is still required earlier this year). current, archived.

The last archived recent changes page shows that the bcrypt step was added to the Creating Extensions page at "2019/07/08 08:16". Does this mean the wiki has been restored to a date some time from before that date? The current Recent Changes page shows the last edit before 2022 as "2019/04/23 19:07", but the two pages seem inconsistent - maybe due to the Wiki software upgrade.

This subforum seems to use a Halloween theme, when everywhere else is the old one?

I was experimenting with board permissions; the pumpkin just seemed fitting -- and didn't exist on the old server, so it was a guarantee that what we're seeing is "Live" and not Mem0rex :)
