Hello forum,

Without wanting to rant on about this topic and the free apps.

i just wanted to mention that hardware acceleration depends upon your device.

Many global devices contain MALI gpu's unlike say GOOGLE PHONES that contain
Arduino gpus..........

Generally, the Linux APPS i mentioned above only really cater for very popular higher end devices
in terms of gpu acceleration....devices like snapdragon chip devices and google phones and higher end Samsungs etc

The majority of global devices are more entry level devices & DO NOT contain those high end gpu's......they contain Mediatek chips and MALI gpu's.......thankfully THERE IS A gpu acceleration SOLUTION FOR THIS.  (  $30 new smartphones and tablets etc)

The free app called TERMUX- DESKTOP gives Linux on Android  and  fully supports a wide array of MALI gpu's out of the box...........it automatically sets up the proper hardware acceleration and you can test at the end to know the Linux gpu is working fine using "gLmark2".

even if their ZINK gpu driver does not drive your specific type of MALI gpu there is a way around that.
You can manually configure another much more capable gpu driver called the "pipetto-crypto's" fork of the Vulkan wrapper.

 if that does not work you can try a different renderer like "virpipe" for your gpu

Eventually you are likely to get full hardware acceleration for your MALI gpu $30 smartphone device.

Some of the reasons i needed to go this far with Linux on Android is some of my devices by Lenovo
are released without proper testing and the Linux desktop feature in "developer settings" crashes with errors on Android 16.
Also, my Samsung devices have the "Linux" developer option completely removed by Samsung in Android 16.......so you can't run NATIVE LINUX on any of the NEW devices i mention above.

So i had to find another way to run NATIVE Linux on Android and the solution for many
people will be TERMUX-DESKTOP free app above.

"Termux-Desktop" has worked for both  my Samsung a16 phone and Lenovo tb311fu tablet out of the box.....they have near identical GPU's....."G57 Mc2" and  "G52 Mc2" by MALi....
.....it gives proper gpu support where-as my earlier "DROIDdesk" solution fell back to just a software gpu renderring

ps......if you like there is also a "DROIDdesk Enhanced" Linux on Android version.........it is designed for MALI gpu's and that may get your cheap devices working right out of the box
