Title: (solved) Background not working by boot with syslinux?
Post by: floppy on June 03, 2011, 01:27:39 PM
hello,
I installed a background in /opt/backgrounds.
But this is not loaded by booting via a CF card which has syslinux.
Is it perhaps related to syslinux? the directory name "backgrounds" has more than 8 letters.
Or I am missing something here?
This issue came up by testing a new laptop. See http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=9831.msg53707#new

You need to add opt/backgrounds to /opt/.filetool.lst and do a backup.

Unrelated to bootloader (syslinux).

correct tinypoodle, this is unreleated to syslinux because it happens with boot via grub, too.
This is solved. Here is the solution:
- despite wallpaper in /opt/backgrounds (in "mydata"), it did not come to the screen
- the wallpaper was activated in the wallpaper menu of the "control panel"
- then I made a backup with bootlocal.sh -b (just in case..) and now..
the wallpaper is coming automatically.
