Title: I'd like to put splash image when boot up?
Post by: leerambo on April 21, 2011, 11:16:03 PM
Hi,

1.I'd like to put splash image when boot up, could someone tell how to do it?

  2. I want to get tinycorelinux kernel source,so I tried to connect  "ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/release/src"

but I can't able to connect. Is there any other mirror site for get kernel source?

*)I want to search from FORUM with a string, "for example, splash" ,
but I don't know to do that where?

Have a day.

If all you want to do is show the TC logo set your framebuffer to a reasonable size for your hardware.

For example, in VBox I use boot code vga=783, which sets a very small resolution (framebuffer).
This centers the logo, and I can make it big using "scale mode".

When you don't wish to read text, let it be small.

Things will be different for your box (or VM), of course. Play around and see what you like!

(Doesn't know much, but likes to try.)

It is different for different bootloaders. You might want to say which bootloader you are using.

As mentioned already, try a search.
