This looks like one of the better ARM netbooks to date. 10" screen, 13h battery, suggested price ~250$.

Interesting, thanks for the link. I'll wait until I can get at least 13" and a quad-A15 personally, but it's still good to see how these develop.

WINDOWS 8 is targeting now ARM platform.

i don't know how much related with topic but recently i learned that nvidia is developing a new SoC with arm based cpu and nvidia gpu all in one chip

max. 5W consumption for a netbook in particular sounds rather illusionary to me...

When I keep the brightness down on my thinkpad x20 I get about 8W in idle.
And my seagate dockstar wants 2W max IIRC.
The market may not be ready yet, but ARM and co gives me hope :D

I can not follow your conclusion. The CPU takes up only a part of the whole power consumption of a netbook with all subsystems fully enabled.
I would be able to reduce consumption on my netbook by 4.4W just by disabling most subsystems/peripherals.

My discourse is simple, if a x86 architecture comes to 10w (all inclusive, the wattmeter can not attack only on the processor), an arm, which is certainly have more moderate consumption, can easily reach 5w with all inclusive.

i guess we agree to totally disagree then.
IMHO also the comparison of the efika smartbook versus smarttop from same line with same Freescale i.MX515 at 12W versus 5W relativates the relevance of the processor regarding power consumption.

Of course, the processor consumes only a fraction of the total, but the architecture also includes everything else on the motherboard
