Title: numpy

First off, I am a total noob at Linux, but so far things are okay. Except, I need to install numpy for a script I want to run, and I can't make heads or tails of the instructions they give (http://www.scipy.org/Installing_SciPy/Linux) to build it.

Has anyone else had success building this? If they have, could they post how they managed to do it?

i have submitted python-{numpy,nose,distribute} recently, expected to be in repo in a few days
