Title: Reboot locks up instead
Post by: danielibarnes on February 01, 2011, 02:31:36 PM
I have a machine (Dell T7400) which locks up when trying to reboot:

The system is going down now!
Sent SIGTERM to all processes
Sent SIGKILL to all processes
Requesting system reboot
Restarting system.
machine restart

Examining the kernel source (http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source/arch/x86/kernel/reboot.c?v=2.6.35#L118) indicates that the "reboot=b" kernel parameter is needed for some systems to reboot properly. I am posting the information here in case it may help someone.

Right, the id for T7400 was added after .33 it seems.
