just got my wireless only computer connected and decided to take this thing for a test drive. while the wireless kernel's driver "sort of" worked for me, the rt2870 staging driver actually works.

Hello and welcome.  I used the rt2860 driver a lot on my eeePC 1000 before the mobo went all flaky.  :'(
