I am a COMPLETE novice when it comes to all this linux and tinycore stuff, so I'm looking for some rudimentary direction.
I have mounted my drive (hda1), downloaded an extension (rdesktop), backed up, and gotten it all to successfully persist after a reboot.
How do I now "call" or "run" that extension??
Thanks-a-bunch (in advance ;))

Since rdesktop is a command-line app, there won't be a menu item or icon. Launch it from the terminal.

OK, this is what i tried:
In terminal, I typed cd /mnt/hda1/tce/optional, which was successful.
Then ls, which returned a small list, including rdesktop.tcz.
Then I simply typed rdesktop.tcz and hit enter.
To which it responded sh: rdesktop.tcz: not found
What am I missing??

Maybe you wanna read this first
http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/Installing+Applications
If you like to load/install rdesktop, try this
tce-load -i rdesktop.tcz
After that, you can start rdesktop with
rdesktop
