I have found several "ways" to install Java, none of which seem to work. The all want me to download it from Sun but I found openJDK in Apps. I installed that but my first java app fails because it cannot extract the JRE. I then tried setting up all the other files (profile.d, filetool.lst, etc.) but nothing seems to help.
I am completely lost on this and am hoping for a definitive way to install Java. TIA.
