Title: Feature Request: update bootcode

Could a bootcode be added to update extensions upon boot before they are installed? this way a restart isn't needed.

Many users, especially wireless need extensions to access the repository, i.e, net access would occur too late for such a boot code to be useful and it is possible that such  in use extensions could be the target of an update.
