Title: does anyone use TCL on eeepc 701?
Post by: magerlab on March 15, 2009, 04:28:55 AM
hello!
i just discovered TCL and want to use it on eee pc 701
all i need is basic wifi( if wpa would work?) and a browser and mplayer
are there any tips on that
maybe someone has already compiled acpi for eee for tcl's kernel?

i see that TCL is very attractive to many puppy linux users. i use puppy on all my computers and think that such small distros are better than bloated ones with lots of unneeded stuff
good luck in your work!

I know we have 701 users, as that is how we got the madwifi-hal.tcem extension.
I supports the atheros wireless in 701. I also know that it works for the 900A as well.

I have tested the atheros extension with the wpa_supplicant.tce extension and it works as well.

Browser choice of minefile or opera, both support flash9.
Browse the collection of extensions, I know we have mplayer

I would like to install a network manager so my mom and my girlfriend also can use this fantastic distro.   No, they won't learn linux... :)
Any ideas how I can do that? I have installed the 2 file for supporting the atheros card in my EEE900
