Probably not a high priority question, as the most frequent use of this extension for myself would be just to run a backtrace.
The 'gdb' version that is currently in the repository (i.e. 'v6.8') was released 2.5 years ago. So I wonder whether an update to v7.2 (released last month) would make sense. I just thought that the reverse debugging feature might be interesting to play with.

Feel free to submit an updated version if you are interested.

I'd like to second the motion for an update to 7.2 for the gdb package. I'm trying to compile it right now, having some linker issues. If someone out there is an expert and can get this done quickly, it would be much appreciated!

I can do it, had an update already in the pipe ;)
