Hi:
I installed OSS on several computers (32 bit) and it worked OK
Now on 64 bit Samsung notebook the cursor freezes when OSS has been
installed via the appbrowser. I need to switch off the PC
May I use ALSA instead
can getflash work with alsa instead of OSS

I hope you are not trying to boot 64-bit TC and load 32-bit OSS modules.
If not, 32/64 bit is not the issue, but different sound hardware.
You need to find the OSS drivers for your hardware, or try alsa instead.
You can also try the oss compatibility package for alsa.

Not sure, if you ask if flashplayer works with alsa, then yes.

Thank you so much for your help!
I just booted with the TC3.2RC2 and did not pay attention to boot codes.
This is my first 64 bit machine.
S - ALSA also works with the getflash10.tcz - am i correct?
because the info in getflash10.tcz says: "maks sure that OSS is installed....."
Have a good day

Yeah, that info is incomplete.

Thank you for this. So if I want to run TC on my 64 bit I need to have 64bit TC version.
I found some posts where they had to make their own 64 bit iso.
Question: When I loaded the 64 bit version may I use the 32 bit repository at ibiblio or do I have to look
for 64 bit extensions?
best regards

No, you aren't forced to use a 64-bit OS on a 64bit comp. The sound issue is unrelated to the bitness as gerald_clark said.
32bit extensions work on a 64bit MC.
