Title: computer too slow
Post by: jls on March 08, 2009, 03:01:26 PM
I have a p2 400 with 128 MB of RAM, I use opera, skype, xmms, sylpheed, xchat and flash, all of them in tcz (except flash which is tce). Unfortunately the system is quite slow, mostly caused by skype, do u suggest to use PPI instead of tcz, or a mix between tcz and tce to speed up my system?

I think in this case extension format is not a large factor in system performance.  In other words, PPI or tcz should give the same performance.

There's not much you can do to further lessen ram use, especially with something heavy like skype. If you have a chance to get more ram, sdram is very cheap these days and even another 128mb would really show.
