Title: Chinese font for Firefox (and maybe other apps)
Post by: MikeLockmoore on August 25, 2010, 12:04:59 AM
Hi.  I would like to be able to see Chinese Simplified characters in Firefox.  Actually, I'd like to be able to copy and paste Chinese characters to/from web pages like Google Translate.  Right now, I only see the unicode number markers instead of the real character glyphs in Tinycore.  What would be the simplest way to get correct Chinese characters to appear in Firefox?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Installing the fireflysung.tcz package seems to do it here and work out of the box.

Oh, and that extension needs to install it's fonts in /usr/local/share/fonts rather than /usr/share/fonts.

Thanks! That works.  I'm not sure I tried that one before.  I had a problem before, however I tried it.  ::)

sure, for example in texteditor geany > view font : select the chinese one (it works for me)

/usr/local/share/locale/zH_CN/LC_MESSAGES/geany.mo exists (geany-locale.tcz)
if you have set the locale  :)
then geany will work in chinese user interface
