Foxit Reader is a very fast and mature pdf reader, far less bloat than e.g. Acrobat.
Download it from this page:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/desklinux/
Extract the archive and place the files in your path, e.g. in /home/tc/.local/bin. Follow the readme instructions, very simple, and make sure all files are copied (just a few files).
I find Foxit vastly faster and stable than anything else I have tried. It may be bigger than epdfview but it sure works a lot better.

There is also a foxit install script in Programming and Scripting, though I need to update it for the freedesktop stuff for 3.x. But the package creation and extension making part of it still works.

Oh, I see. Could it be made into a tcz for the repo, or is that only for open-source stuff? (Not that using the script is too much work but in the repo it has more visibility...)
-
Upstream binary stuff is ok if redistributable.
-
Looks like item 5 of the EULA OK's redistribution since tcl is not designed for handheld devices.
-
Yep, it appears distributable. I don't know if the license changed recently or if that fact was overlooked.
Now just waiting on an extension..

I'll do this one.
