Title: More Flash(player) talk
Post by: aus9 on July 13, 2010, 08:07:27 AM
hi

forgive my hijack but its kinda connected due to the discussion on flashplayer.

1) Google Chrome at youtube advertises itself as able to play youtube movies.

I may use something else...(laughs) but I installed it to have a look,  due to a post for help at lxde.org.

Its plugin was the same size of the non-free one altho its md5sum differs.

and

Code: [Select]
strings /opt/google/chrome/libgcflashplayer.so | grep adobe
revealed the truth.

That leaves IMHO only minitube
2) minitube displays movie without any flashplayer or plugin but depends on qt4

http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Minitube?content=111068

It dependencies are the issue for us Tinycorers?

Apparently it needs
Linux 32bit binaries for Qt >= 4.6. If you’re running an older distro try the 32bit binaries for Qt 4.5. You’ll need to install the dependencies on your own: Qt, Phonon and a Phonon backend with codecs for H.264 and AAC decoding. The GStreamer Phonon backend is recommended

submitted for anyone's interest.......mods feel free to delete if its a real hijack please.
