Title: May the source code of TCL hosted at a public version management system?
Post by: Xianwen Chen on June 29, 2010, 06:47:46 AM
Dear Robert,

Hosting the source code at a public version management system (SVN, git, CVS etc.) can allow users to build up TCL based on the latest codes and then test it. It will also make it easier for users to contribute codes, since they can see if the patches have been made by others. It can also be used to form a group of core developpers. What do you think about this suggestion?

Best regards,

Xianwen

+1  allows others to fork and test ideas in a pretty simple manner

Also issues and public editable wikis are easily available.

Linux is even hosted on github now, seems like moving tinycorelinux could be beneficial.

ork.

Is it a request or a statement? There is a WIKI which is available.

Talking about LINUX in general, distributions, kernel or applications?

BTW, TC source is freely available now. All these are independent wether SVN/GIT/... used or not.

Github provides a unified location to converse on open source projects.
I was just trying to suggest that github has wikis and issues built in if needed.

Just seems github could be beneficial for more exposure, and contributions.

Robert, whilst it is correct that they offer several different commercial plans there is at least the
    Free for open source
Unlimited public repositories and unlimited public collaborators

option (at the very top of the list).
