Title: Upgrading Microcore to Tinycore

The article http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/Adding+a+Desktop+to+MicroCore is outdated and I need to install Xlibs.gz and Xprogs.gz to setup a window manager, however tce-load does seem to work and unzipping them with gzip only gives me some sort of archive which cannot be extracted using neither tar nor ar. How do I install these files?

Place them in your tce dir (not optional), reboot.

..and you will also need either Xvesa.gz or an Xorg extension.

There is also the option of putting them in /boot and calling them from the boot loader.

Hmm. So you need a persistent tce directory somewhere. Any way to do this without one?

They are (now) initramfs, so you could load them via a bootloader.

say that must download the files
Xlibs.core.gz
Xprogs.core.gz

with the .core.gz name but in the folder
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/release/microcore/
or in
ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/release/microcore/
dont exist the files with the core.gz extension, exist with  other extension
are the same thing ?

also the Xserver folder dont exist
ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/release/microcore/Xserver/Xvesa.gz

please correct the wiki

They were renamed to just .gz.
