I cant get xmms to play a cd. How do you do it?
-
Start XMMS
Press Ctrl+P
Select Audio I/O plugins
Select CD Audio Player 1.2.11 (libcdaudio.so)
If it's disabled, click on Enable Plugin
Click on Configure
Under Device:
Change the directory to the drive. Example /mnt/hdc
Under Play mode:
Select Analog if you have an audio cable running from the motherboard to the CD/DVD player .
Otherwise select Digital audio extraction.
On the CD Info Tab:
Enable Use CDDB
Click OK twice.
Press Shift+L
Navigate to the /mnt/hdc
Press OK
The playlist should populate with the track names (if the CD is in the database).

I did check for the cd-audio plugin and see that it was active.
I did not know that by hi-lighting it I could configure it.
It was pointing to /mnt/cdrom instead of /mnt/hdc.
So...I have learned something new!
Combo3....thank you very much......Alan.
