Title: ntfs-3g problem
Post by: wohlstandpenner on May 18, 2010, 04:10:56 PM
Hallo

I have some ntfs Firmware files.. I put in de Files the tinycore.gz an bzimage..

But now when i boot.. grub becomes an error 13.. Invalid or unsupported executable format..

I think.. that is a failure in ntfs-3g.. Anyone an idee?

I pusht some things in the ntfs-firmware with this way

mount -t nfts-3g -o loop,offset=834710 /firmware.file.bin /mountpoint..

But since a few day, this way didn`t work for me..
When i edit an text file in this image with vi.. Vi has an error..
Swap file not readable..

Thanks ..

Neither GRUB nor the TinyCore kernel can read ntfs.
Ntfs-3g is a userspace driver that can only be used
once the system is booted, and the userspace tools
are loaded.

The kernel doesn`t need ntfs read support..
Perhaps.. grub4dos started the kernel and initrd..

I have never more needed ntfs driver in Tinycore..
It`s the firmware from my evo t20..

thats the list of files in the image..
1menu.lst  bzImage  menu.lst      ntdetect.com boot.ini   grldr    microcore.gz  ntldr

The version of ntfs-3g is
ntfs-3g 2010.5.16

Now i have an worked image..
i have mounted them.. a file copyed, deleted in the image an back copyed ..
the i become this failure.. from grub....

I think ntfs-3g has an failure.. or maybe I.. But i think the failure in ntfs-3g is smaller :-)
