Hello out there in Tinycore land. I am running Tinycore on a American Predator Corp. Raptor AT mother board with On-board 10 Base T/100Mbits (Intel 82559) . Up to now I have failed to get an IP address on eth0. dmesg shows:
e100: e100_request_firmware: Failed to load firmware "e100/d101s_ucode.bin": -2
ifconfig eth0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx shows:
ifconfig: SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory.
Can anyone help me in getting my network up?

install firmware-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz

Where do I get and how do I install firmware-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz? Since I don't have network connection, I can't use the application browser.

Got to the main site, and select downloads, then Version 2.x Repository of Extensions.
Change the URL from http: to ftp: and navigate to
ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tcz/

You could download the file (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tcz/firmware-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz) directly on another system. But I guess you'll still have the problem to make it available to the TC system. Do you have a hard disk or a USB drive which you plan to use for this?
Anyway, there are several threads in this forum here which discuss the specific problem with requiring this extension to gain a working network connection. I urge you to make good use of the forum search function before asking more specific questions. I'd imagine that most points have already been covered, but maybe not in a single thread.

Thanks maro, gerald_clark, and Arslan S..
I was able to get the network working. I downloaded the firmware from ftp.nluug.nl/pub/metalab/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x/tcz.
I have a hard drive, and a CD ROM. I placed firmware-2.6.29.1-tinycore.tcz on a CD.
I mounted the CD drive connected to the Raptor board then used application browser in local mode to install.
Thanks again!!
