Title: Extensions for 3.0
Post by: bmarkus on May 10, 2010, 08:03:05 AM
Jason,

do you accept extensions (re)compiled on 3.0 for the repo? Would be good to see differences (advantages/disadvantages) compared to 2.x versions running on 3.0

Certainly, just specify for 3.x only, others that can work for both will go to both 2.x and 3.x.

Also, now that we have 2 repos, for anyone submitting extensions it would be a big help to either specify which TC version they are for (2.x, 3.x).  Though most non-kernel related ones built on 2.x will work for both, it is preferable to test them first on 3.x if they are to be placed there as well to save finding problems later.

Extensions for 3.x should not have the tce.menu or tce.icon directories included, and 2.x does not need them either if there is a freedesktop file included.

Testing updated extensions on 3.x and not including tce.icon/tce.menu will help out a lot in the transition.
