Title: n00b question regarding saving desktop

this is a total n00b question and i apologize for not having searched the forums beforehand

looking to backup the desktop as ive downloaded/installed wifi components and firefox

tried to do it via backup, but was returned to my old desktop once i rebooted

am running off usb key

/dev/sdb1 <-- puppy 1gig
/dev/sdb2 <-- grub 8mb
/dev/sdb3 <-- tiny core 500mb
/dev/swap <--remainder

Did you go over http://www.tinycorelinux.com/concepts.html ?
