Title: How to login to an existing remote VNC server?
Post by: baz on February 25, 2010, 02:56:34 PM
I tried installing tightvnc and realvnc but I'm not clear on how to use them to connect to an existing vnc server rather than being the servers themselves. I also take it they don't come with the GUIs?

It seems there was a problem with the install - I tried it again and the vncviewer command now exists.

I wonder, which GUIs do you mean? AFAIK there aren't any linux vnc config guis upstream, they are Windows-only. There are separate GUIs though, like what is in Ubuntu.

Are the separate gui's in the repo?

None that I know of, but then I'm not always up to date on that ;)

Ubuntu uses IIRC a gnome client, that can start rdp and nx connections as well.
