Title: TC 2.5 blocks LAN port
Post by: enoch on February 21, 2010, 12:52:04 PM
Booting TC 2.5 off  USB sick on a Eee PC blocks the LAN port, after booting back in Windows have to mess with the port to get it working again, all Atheros drivers.
Appreciate any help.

Did you try 2.8.1?

Yes 2.8.1 does the same thing, TC wont see the LAN port and booting Windows requires 1 or 2 cold boots for it to recover the port, I noticed when booting TC 2.8.1. it says 2.6. This Eee has Atheros hardware.

Not TC specific. There is discussion of this in the eee forums.

So you believe its an issue with the Eee not TC as such.

IMPORTANT this is specific to TinyCore blocking the LAN port on a Eee-PC confirmed another distro Slitaz did not cause this problem.

Yet Windows does, as well as some other distros, no?

I've tried two other Distros on the same Eee-PC and they don't block the LAN port or cause problems with Windows like TC.
Booting TC will not see the port and rebooting to Windows requires multiple boots or messing with msconfig to get it working again, this PC has Atheros hardware.
