Title: /opt/tcemirror - no 2.x needed?

I thought the repository location was "http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/2.x" but I see the tcemirror file points to
"http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/tinycorelinux/".

There are two tcz directories tinycorelinux/tcz and tinycorelinux/2.x/tcz. I have been assuming the 2.x is the right one to use for tc v2.8.

Perhaps the "2.x" is implicit.

Yes. The version that you are running will supply it. 2.8 will only work with 2.x.
