Hello.
I have a annoying Bug in Opera using websites with Flash.
I have installed Opera and Flash10 on a pure tinycore fresh from the Appbrowser.
I tested Youtube and everything works fine.
But there are Website they do not.
For example this:
http://www.wdrmaus.de/spielen/mausspiele/index.php5
There are some little games implemented in flash.
A good example the the second game (http://www.wdrmaus.de/spielen/mausspiele/spiel.php5?id=169) "Elfmeterschießen"
After clicking on the blue arrow near "Spiel Starten" the games starts.
So and there are the Problems:
You have the 3 arrows on the right side. They trigger the blue Elephant to kick the football.
But if I click on one of the arrow nothing happen!
This is a example for a special kind of Button I cant click. Because there are more and I have a local flash application with the same Problem.
I tested the same game in Firefox and there the buttons work fine.
But Firefox is no real alternative for my. (please don't ask why ;) )
I also tested the website on a Ubuntu Jaunty with Opera and there are also no problems
Does anyone have the same problem in tinycore with Opera? Or does someone have a hint how to fix that Bug?
Thank you for any help!
-
just tested with opera10.tcz that flash game is working
which opera are you using? there are two in repo opera.tcz and opera10.tcz
-
I noticed Opera10 has issues with the mouse pointer in some flash games that do not affect Firerox/Shiretoko. So there very well may be a glitch in how Opera uses flash for those purposes.
-
The bug appears in both Opera versions in the repos.
Its some kind of miscommunication between Opera and Flash.
If I Right-click on the flash and than fast click twice on the Buttons in the Flash, the button gets triggered.
@arslanserc: Do you only have Opera and the Flash plugin installed or more?
-
And an other thing is, if I right-click a flash and choose "settings" I cant click anything.
I cant get out of the settings or even change anything within the setting.
-
I have tested an other PC with a fresh tinycore and first installed Opera10 and right after it Flash10. Both over the repos.
Also on the second PC I have the same problem.
I will try a third PC I have. But Iam really certain that the problem will be there also.
A short thing about our setting. I have two Clients without harddisk running on a atom Platform. Tinycore comes from netboot. No nfs-share non-persistent enviroment!
(Both clients are identically so I count them as one ;) )
The second test was with a standard PC, I dont know the exact components. Tinycore boot from USB-harddrive but also non-persistent environment!
The third test will be a Tinkpad T60, tinycore will also come from Netboot in a non-persistent enviroment
-
Ok same problem on the TinkPad T60.
But I have an additional information:
In the football game above the three buttons to shoot the ball are two Boxes.
In these two boxes have to be a number that represents the score.
In my default installations (Opera 10.10 + Flash10) these boxes are empty.
I tried some extension and found out that if I install the glibc_gconv.tcz extensions the score-boxes work as they should.
Can it be that there are only extensions missing?
I installes everyone wich is relatet to glib2 or gtk2 also the dev-versions. But its does not solve my problem.
If there is anyone that does not have my bug issue, please post your extension-list so if I am lucky I find a difference between your version and my. Thank you!

can you try it by loading icewm and exit to prompt then startx

Sorry for the long delay.
It is the icewm window manager. Found it out before you wrote it but how do you know that? ;)
Have installed the first third of your installed extension and after that it works and was no magic to assume that icewm does the magic trick! :)
Today I tried the most of the other window manager provided by the appbrowser and only in icwm and wmaker the flash works properly.
Its also not a dependency of icewm or wmaker. Have tried it out.
But can someone tell me why flash work only these two window manager the right way?!
I don't know, is this a serious bug that have to been reported?
The window manager I tested are:
| aewm++ | bug appears |
| evilwm | bug appears |
| fluxbox | bug appears |
| Hackedbox | bug appears |
| icewm | BUG NOT APPEARS |
| jvw | bug appears |
| openbox | bug appears |
| tinywm | bug appears |
| wmaker | BUG NOT APPEARS |
| Xfce | BUG NOT APPEARS |

Xfce4 ?

i know because i tested it from base and i realized that changing the window manager does the trick
also there is a problem between vlc and flwm_topside when switching to full screen a window covers whole screen
but this does not happen with icewm

@bmarkus
Thank you. In Xfce flash work the right way. But Xfce with all dependencies is something like 10 times larger than wmaker and 2 times larger than icewm.
Fore me, I will use wmaker. Its small and customizable but we use Opera in kiosk-mode so a nice looking desktop is not that important.
-
Thanks for the feedback on Xfce4. Well, Xfce4 may look big in a TC environment, but it is erally small compared to KDE or GNOME. All together its size is small enough, and lets say 20M additional storage is not a limitation today, especially if it works properly :) This is just a side note of course, that size is so relative.

Great thanks to curaga!!
The solution he wrote in this post http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=4399.0 fix my issue!
I don't have tested it in any possible configurations but it fix the problem on a clean installation. (What was most annoying!)
That saves a bunch of ram space for loading a other windows manager! ;)
(And time to boot!)
Thank you!
