Hello!
One Wire File System would be a very nice add on for anyone working on a home monitoring/control system
based on Tiny linux distro... OWFS also needs FUSE to work.
I'm using it for monitoring temperatures with Maxim/Dallas 1-wire sensors.
I'm very new to Tiny Core. Been using DSL until now, but seems like it's more or less dead...
This Tiny Core seems actually even better then DSL for projects like that, but i don't have enough
knowledge to to make it work on myown yet...
Thanx and Best Regards

..there is a fuse extension at least :)
I'll have a look at owfs

owfs posted

That was QUICK! :o
I'll try it ;)
Thank You very much!

Hello again!
I just want to tell You that I tested owfs in TinyCore with usb 1wire adapter from VirtualBox and it works great!!! ;D
Thanx again for very fast response!
I guess I'll be using TC, since I like very much it's concept of easy adding only what you need and thus being very compact. Great for small linux based virtual appliances :)
P.S.: In appbrowser if you type owfs in search field it doesn't find anything. So I downloaded it manually with wget. But now I checked again and found owfs.tczl in the list of extensions. But search still doesn't find it. A BUG?
-
I think it depends on how newly uploaded extensions propagate through the various mirrors and how the "search" function is implemented/indexed.
Try again in a day or so and see if the extension shows up in "search".

I'm not sure I was clear enough ???:
the extension WAS listed in extensions list in Appbrowser after File/Connect, but using search field didn't find it.
Scrolling down and selecting it manually worked from Appbrowser.
I was sure that "search field" searches through extension list on left, so that you can quickly find any extension.

If I type owfs in the search field, it produces owfs.tczl as a result in the extension list on the left.
-
Today it works for me too.
Yesterday it was as i explained - owfs was in the list, but search didn't find it. I just
thougt that was weird...
I guess Juanito was right it depends on how "search" function is implemented/indexed

The search list is updated once per day.
