Title: Can all extensions be mounted, or are there some which must be installed?

With previous versions, some extensions were only available as tce.

With the new system, can all extensions be mounted, or are there some which must be installed?

Intention is that all can be either mounted or installed. Of curse there can be temporary excepttions but really as exceptions.
