-

 Enable Sound in Web pages
-
Thank you did that but still no sound

-
				Shalom
How can I play mp3 content in Opera?
-
I have OSS working and sound in Opera with Flash, what extension is needed and how to setup for mp3 content?

-
I'm using XMMS in Opera to play .pls streams.

-
Thank you, how do you set up xmms to Opera?

-
Could you give a link to a web site that has audio content? Then we can go through the steps.

-
				www.justsonny.com

 Thank you
-
This site wants a Quicktime plugin. I did some searching for a Linux QT plugin, without success.

-
				How about: justsonny.com/multimedia.shtml
I  think this page uses mp3s. Yeah the home page is Quicktime.
-
				How about: justsonny.com/multimedia.shtml

Install an audio player (xmms, audacious, mplayer, etc)

Click on the audio link in webpage

 In the dialog box:

 Click Open
 File name: /usr/local/bin <Enter>
Select your player (xmms, audacious, mplayer, etc)
 Click Open
Check Remember choice and do not show dialog again
 Click Open
 Enjoy!!

Note: the very first link on that page (under multimedia) requires mplayer
-
				Thank you that was it!

-
easy after you know what to do....can it be set to stream the audio instead of downloading?

-
Content delivery is determined by the host site.

Tried this on my box and ran into a quirk -- the sound keeps playing even if you close Opera. Couldn't see mplayer running either. Ended up rebooting to get it to turn off (there's probably a better way, cancelling a process or something).

-
To make mplayer run in the foreground:

 Tools > Preferences > Advanced

 Select Downloads

 Select audio/mpeg

 Click Edit

In the text box under Open with other application

 Change /usr/local/bin/mplayer to /usr/local/bin/gmplayer

 Click OK twice.

p.s. No need to reboot. Open a terminal.

 tc@box:~ $ ps | grep mplayer

 sudo kill [insert PID #]

-
Above requires one of the *gtk mplayers; the other two don't have a graphical frontend.

-
True... forgot about the other two.  :-[

-
Thanks, I'll try that (I have gtk2 mplayer).
