Title: boot options in usb install?
Post by: fladd on September 13, 2009, 01:48:15 PM
Hi there,

maybe I am missing something very stupid here, but when I boot my USB stick with TC on it (made with the usbinstlall script), I get no screen where I can add some boot option for just this session.
What is the hotkey to get there?

Regards,
fladd

FWIW The usbinstall script prompts you for your boot time parameters.

The question of how to get a boot prompt from syslinux was recently discussed.

Hold down the Shift or Alt keys during boot.

Ah, thanks a lot!

And yes, I know that it prompts me for the general settings. However, since one installs to USB in order to carry it around to a variety of computers that is not what I need :)

Adding "PROMPT 1" to the config file will always prompt.

Actually, neither Shift, nor Alt brings me to the boot prompt.
