Title: xmms in piCore64 v. 17
Post by: meo on August 13, 2026, 06:37:50 AM
Hello!

I'm trying to make XMMS work in piCore64 v. 17. The message I get is make sure your sound is configured properly or something like that. I don't have a clue so any help would be very appreciated. I've been looking for the "Wood" skin for XMMS but I can't find it. I think it was a name including Wood at least. Thanks beforehands to the TC community helping each other out!

Kind Regards,
meo

Assuming you are using alsa and the speaker-test passes, you need to check that the correct alsa device is selected in xmms -> output plugin -> configure.

If the correct output is chosen, then you should be able to play an mp3 file - you will not be able to play midi or wav files. If you want to play a flac file, you need to load xmms-flac and restart xmms.

If you use pulseaudio for sound, you will need to load xmms-pulse, restart xmms and choose the pulseaudio output plugin in xmms.

If the speaker-test does not pass, xmms will not play music.

Hi Juanito!

I used XMMS a lot in DSL but that was a while ago. Thanks for informing me about XMMS!

Kind Regards,

Hello everybody!

XMMS Started to work from scratch. I didn't have to do anything but load the music.

Kind greetings,
