Title: TC17-64 bits, Xorg synaptics working?
Post by: nick65go on June 04, 2026, 12:33:11 PM
@Juanito: As you have (I assume) near the same devices like in my laptop (gpu-id =a7a1 Raptor Lake -P), I wonder if ALL your devices work now properly in TC17.

In principle I gave up (temporary) on TinyCore because
my synaptic pad was not working with the new Xorg server in TC16.
Plus some problems with sound not working without GPU firmware .. (crazy dependency),
Plus gpu XE driver not working (but i915 was OK).

"And in CachyOS (no advertise is intended here) I have all I need out-of-the-box: microcode-CPU, compiled for x86-x64-v3, sound analog+HDMI, WiFI, blue-tooth, F1-F12 key working (brightness, mute) etc. The F1-F12 were not working in TC16-x64, but I did no reported because was a minor annoyance versus touch-pad"

I usually use a different laptop for tinycore and keep this one for stuff that only works with windows :P

I can confirm that with tc-17.x, the xe driver now works and the touchpad works with the default settings (I haven’t figured out to mimic a third button press).

WiFi works without problems, but I’m not sure if I tested sound or not.

I haven’t tested Bluetooth apart from loading the kernel drivers and checking that dmesg looked like it would work.
