Hello forum,
I use "firefox_getLatest.sh" extension in tinycore 64 to get firefox...
How do I tell it to fetch the latest nightly build?
It has options for ESR..... Etc ... But " nightly" is not mentioned as a fetch option
Thx

How about the extension named firefox-nightly?
-
The nightly builds are retrieved differently to the normal, beta, and ESR releases, so the script doesn't support them.

CNK
are the nightly builds identical to any of the others you mention like ESR etc.........is the core engine the same since i am looking for the feature FORKSERVER in about config
is it only nightly with that feature?
thx

If the feature was added in 135.0 then it should be in any of the later versions which the script downloads, the latest stable version is 148, so 135 is old. Firefox Nightly builds are mainly for people helping to develop and debug the browser, I'm sure it's not really what you want. If the setting you're looking for isn't in the latest Firefox version the script downloads for you, it was probably changed/renamed later. I use the current ESR version, 140.8, and the dom.ipc.forkserver.enable setting is in about:config there.

daily driver librewolf 147.0.4-1 has about:config setting dom.ipc.forkserver.enable and it is set to true(default)
-
What is librewolf?
I see you qoute the latest Firefox tradition build number..... But what is librewolf?
Thx

Okay CNK .......all of you seem to suggest I just use the latest traditional version and the setting will be there

Thanks for all your help
evidently , it's clear to me that i sometimes just get mental blocks with computing.
So i quikly discovered tonight that the mentioned FLAG we talk of is indeed available on the latest regular Firefox build on ALL OPERATING SYSTEMS.........including MS win 10 etc
i still intend to also set it to TRUE in TCL 64 bit
typing ---------about:config ( into Firefox address bar) and accept the terms then search for
-------> dom.ipc.forkserver.enable -----------------AND SET IT TO "true"
done
thanks a lot
