Title: How to create LIVE tiny core linux on Windows 10
Post by: aatayyab on July 27, 2025, 04:30:27 PM
Hello,

I have a core 2 duo Laptop with Legacy BIOS without UEFI 8GB RAM and 128 SSD drive with Windows 10 installed. I want to create a LIVE tiny core linux USB on this machine so that whenever I boot, it gives me option to boot from USB or hard drive. I have already configured and tested the USB bootable capability of this machine and set to boot from USB first.

Now, whenever I try to install Tiny Core on USB using Rufus and boot from it, it takes me direct to GRUB command prompt. I have no idea what to do next. Can you please guide me?

NOTE: Instead of messing with my current Windows 10 installation, I simply want to run LIVE USB Tiny Core Linux and test it. Is it possible?

Thanks for your precious time in reading this.

Amir

Do you have access to a cd/dvd drive (if so, you can burn the tinycore iso to cd/dvd)?

Do you have access to a linux machine (if so, you can follow the instructions to create a bootable usb stick)?
