Post by: vinceASPECT on September 13, 2024, 12:51:31 AM
Hello forum,

These remote desktop clients don't have any specific needs do they?
such as cpu's which are...... SSE 2   compliant....?......they run on most anything from 25 years ago right?

thanks

Hi vinceASPECT
I can't comment on remmina, but I used to use freerdp many
years ago on an old 800Mhz i686 (coppermine) CPU under TC4.

Why ask? Just install it and see if your hardware is up to the task.

yeah,,,,,i did that and it works

it is an old laptop athlon xp 1300  .....compaq presario 800.

256 ram.

i hoped to dial into a remote server.....since the native machine
won't run a useful modern web browser etc.

it seems this should all be possible.

Thx
C

there are some free for life servers....
