I am not sure, if this is the right place to ask, but I have problems to login to the wiki.
I assumed/remembered that the credentials are the same as for the forum, but I cannot login with my forum credentials.
Any ideas?
In any case: congratulations for re-vitalizing the wiki

We should create new unifficial wikia (fandom). All should be published on public domain licences.

do answer my original question (which I probably did not make explicit enough):
Is the wiki completely functional again or currently only in a state, where the contents are recovered, but read only?
My forum credentials are not accepted and password recovery does not work either on the wiki login page https://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/doku.php?id=welcome&do=login
(see also the last reply to my post more than two years ago here (http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,23833.msg163525.html#msg163525))

My forum credentials are not accepted
despite I am labeled as "Wiki Author" ...
-
Any news about this?
Nothing changed, I still cannot edit/update my wiki pages. And more severe, about two weeks ago neither the wiki nor the forum was accessible. I opened a support ticket at Dreamhost support, but they refused help (since I am not responsible for the site).
-
Wiki was resurrected but still brokes sometimes.
I tried to login but no luck.Dokuwiki could have security vulnerabilities.
I don't know is it still in developing. In modern times e-mail one-time-passwords should be a standard.
-
Wiki was resurrected
I know, but there is quite some time passed by now since resurrection of the wiki, so I think it should be possible to edit ...
I tried to login but no luck.
correct. This is exactly what I reported as my problem ...
The problem is that @gutmensch apparently gave up more than 5 years ago and @joe also seems to be retired or never has been active at all (both are listed as team members on http://tinycorelinux.net/Team_TC.html (http://tinycorelinux.net/Team_TC.html) ...
Who is currently in charge for forum & wiki?
-
The wiki continues to have security and authentication problems. It is unfortunately very old software that does not fit will with modern security protocols.

are there any plans/attempts to resolve these issues? Or is TC slightly going down?
-
Centralware was handling the forum and wiki until recently, but since he decided to leave, currently nobody is in charge of that. The current forum and wiki will be going down in a few days. We're discussing what to do. We have current backups.

oops, sorry to read that, hope you find a solution.

We have current backups.

with Forums and Wiki migration to new server (https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,27160.msg174391.html#msg174391) the problems are resolved. Many thanks and congratulations to Paul_123

I see your avatar is missing, was that a recent upload? The file backup was a couple of weeks old, the database was fresh.

No. I do not remember having set up for an avatar and therefore I switched my profile to "No avatar".

after reading:
https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,26703.msg174442.html#msg174442
followed wiki link from above noted forum post:
https://wiki.tinycorelinux.net/doku.php?id=wiki:install_hd
saw that webpage was last updated October 17th, 2018 as per "Last_modified" notation at page_bottom
(wiki/install_hd.txt · Last modified: 2018/10/17 12:02 by coreplayer2)
given that many wiki pages are dated, perhaps the welcome page could offer a caution of some sort regarding the potential for outdated information/instructions/etc

just a humble observation
more humble personal note: family and community commitments preclude my participation in wiki updating at the present moment in time.

Now forum and wiki are accesible only through https.

Yes, unfortunately the nature of upgrading to modern servers/software.

begging the (rhetorical)
which `modern servers/software` ?!
afaik that would (likely) be a configuration detail !?..
which will likely be
unfortunate for any one with an (vvv)old browser or the wrong time/certs :-\
-
It can probably be solved through configuration, I’ll look at it if I get time. Using ssl should not be a big deal.
-
Another vote from me for allowing unencrypted connections to the forum. Using SSL on old or underpowered computers can be a big deal, and disabling HTTPS redirects at a web server shouldn't be.
It looks like the forum's web server software is Nginx configured using Plesk. This guide (https://www.plesk.com/kb/support/how-to-disable-permanent-seo-safe-301-redirect-from-http-to-https-by-default-in-plesk-obsidian/) might be helpful to change the HTTPS redirect setting.
-
Transparent proxy http-> https would allow many people to use old browsers for long time.
-
Its not necessarily the web server inherently, Its how it all works together. The forum software has two options. Disable SSL/Force SSL. Its getting both to work. A transparent proxy is an interesting option.
For various reasons, we need to upgrade to SMF 2.1.x. That is my next task.
I will look at options for http when I get some time.

I tried to login to forum using opera12 and dillo-beta.tcz and no luck.
-
Hi neonix
I added you to the Wiki Author group. Try again.

Hi neonix
... I tried to login to forum using opera12 and dillo-beta.tcz and no luck.
You should have been able to log in to the Wiki.
I just created a new user, and once the account was activated, he
was able to log in to the Wiki. While he could log in, he can not edit
anything unless I add him to the Wiki Author group.
So if you really could not log in, it's probably a browser issue.
-
Wiki log-in (read-only) is working for me with the x86_64 dillo.tcz extension for TC15. It's allowed to store cookies by my ~/.dillo/cookiesrc settings, which is probably important.
Eventually I'd like to make an index for scripts submitted in the "Programming & Scripting - Unofficial" section of the forum, so @Rich I'd like Wiki write access for that eventually. I probably won't do anything right away though.
-
Hi CNK
You should now have write access.

You should now have write access.
That was quick! Yes, "Edit" buttons are showing up there now. Thanks!
