Title: Can't access internet "Error trying to connect"
Post by: vicmorrowsghost on August 14, 2009, 01:42:22 AM
Hi I'm new to Linux and Tinycore and I'm trying to follow the install instructions, problem is when I click Connect > TZE it gives the message "Error trying to connect. Try later."

Looked at the netcardconfic and tried DHCP but the shell reports "Network is down"
I was just using Puppy Linux on the same machine which was accessing the net and this machine is on the same LAN so I'm fairly sure the net isn't down.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks.

I get this message fairly often when trying to download extensions, at least since version 2.x. Don't know what the cause is. If I try again (and occasionally again) I generally get through.

I am yet to get through after many attempts.

Sorry I wasn't more help, vicmorrowsghost.

If you search the forum here on e.g. "network problem" you'll find several threads on problems people have had with internet access. Many of them are related to specific hardware and may be relevant to you.
